The artist teacher is a contortionist- a performer of flexibility and balance. She must bend and twist to accommodate the many tasks that are asked of her, all while balancing the many facets of her career and life: students, co-workers, principals and administration, paperwork, standards, content, profession and social life. She is a person of strength and continual practice, never for one day letting her skills go without thought or refinement or practice.
